With This Vacation Checklist
One month to go ...
and a vacation checklist to help.
It is at this stage, regardless of how many trips I have been on, that my excitement mounts. It is soooo close. Just around the corner.
In the past it has been in these remaining weeks that I used to PANIC !! But NOT NOW.
I use my vacation checklist planners to guide my organisation, and now FOCUS on enjoying planning my Itinerary and the sheer excitement of "getting ready".

The 1 Month Travel Checklist Planner
__ 1.. Make a list of clothing and other items that could be needed based
on your research last month
__ 2.. If you wish to write a travel journal whilst you are away, consider
establishing a web-blog.
__ 3.. If not setup already, establish a world-wide email address and send
to your friends and family.
Email your web-blog address if this is setup.
__ 4.. Make TWO copies of your birth certificate, airline tickets, travel
insurance documents, and credit cards.
Copy the important cards etc from your wallet/purse.
Leave a set home with someone and take a copy with you but in
a secure separate location from the originals.
__ 5.. Duty Free shopping.
Compare the value of Duty Free Shopping against a normal
purchase as you would on other occasions. Consider:
- cost savings,
- whether the item could be used before you leave,
- convenience.
__ 6.. Organise prescriptions from your doctor.
__ 7.. Have your doctor write a note for any medications required to be
taken in hand-luggage on your flight if flying,
and for written proof of the need for medications overseas.
__ 8.. Visit your dentist.
__ 9.. Leave a copy of your itinerary and contact addresses for your
family and friends.
__ 10. Purchase Travellers cheques and currency. Record the Traveller
Cheque serial numbers and keep a copy at home.
Allow time for these cheques to arrive if purchased from a Bank or
an Agent Branch.
Likewise the currency you will need may need to be delivered
to the Bank or Agency.
__ 11. Public transport information - print a copy of any necessary
information, or copy to a computer Notebook
or Palm device (PDA) like a Palm Pilot or HP iPAQ
__ 12. Maps - collect paper maps or copy to a PDA
__ 13. Interational Dialling codes - enable you to make international calls
copy the relevant codes to a small diary or PDA.
